Meatless Friday #3

Wow, it's Friday already!  This has been quite the week for rain!  The river by us is so high right now!  It's scary!  I know I'm repeating myself, but it is!!!

I don't think I mentioned that my aunt left yesterday with a friend of her's to go to San Diego for the weekend.  Normally when she's gone and I'm there, Rusty drives me insane and won't let me sleep, but I actually slept for the most part last night.  I did have a bizarre dream though, but I can't remember what it was...

Anyway, I got myself and my breakfast and lunch ready for the day, then headed off to work.  I've been trying to clean up my room and the bathroom because my mom is coming up for the weekend.  When I got off the freeway and to my street, I noticed that everyone had to turn that way because the road between my street and the next one (this is the road next to the river) was blocked, and there were cops there and everything.  I thought it was because they were worried about flooding or something, but it turns out someone's car fell into the river!  I don't know if anyone was hurt or what happened, but I hope everyone was okay...

Breakfast was my normal egg and toast with a banana.  I didn't end up eating the banana because it looked really gnarley in the middle.  I HATE browned bananas.  I tried to cut off the dark areas on the outside, but the middle was dark too! Ewww!!!!!  I better freeze the last 2 at home so I can make banana bread or something with them.

I needed some caffeine so I grabbed my teapot and put some of Peet's Black Currant Tea.  Mmmmm!!!  LOVE IT!

Isn't this such a cute cozy?  My mom gave this to me!
I had more yogurt with the nut, seed, and dried fruit mix, and honey.
I also snacked on some carrots until lunch time.

I had an appointment at lunch so it I at my lunch while working.  I just threw together leftover pinto beans, brown rice, and a little shredded cheese.  I didn't think it was going to be that great, but it was fantastic!  It tasted like the inside of a bean and cheese burrito. I added salsa and light sour cream and mixed it all together.  Didn't look that appetizing but very good!

Only thing is I only had 7 pp for dinner...  When I got home from work, I took out my towels from the dryer and started folding.  Rusty of course had to make sure I was doing it right!
My mom got to the house shortly after I did.  We were both starving so we went straight to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner.  I was good and had salmon with brown rice and steamed broccoli.  Yuuummm!  I only had less than 1/2 of the huge mound of rice they put on my plate!
I also had a piece of their wheat bread they bring out to the table that I LOVE!  I just forgot to take a picture...  Oops!  I'm still getting used to this!

Anyway, after dinner, we walked through Nordstrom, and some of our favorite stores, then headed home since we were pretty tired.  Now I better get to bed so we can prepare for the big pizza day tomorrow! G'night!

Yet Another Rainy Day...

Okay, honestly, ENOUGH with this weather!!!  The river is so high right now it's scary!  I work literally across the street from it, and where we live, we're surrounded by the Sacramento River and the deep water channel!

Anyway, I need to stop complaining!!!  So, my morning was the usual egg, toast and a banana.

Around 10:30 I had my morning snack.  1 cup Greek yogurt with 1/4 cup nut/seed/dried fruit mix, spoonful of chia seeds, and 2 teaspoons of honey.  I like it much better with the Greek yogurt.  It's thicker, and get this, the coconut yogurt 0 protein.  ZERO.  Well, I still love the Coconut milk, so I'll just stick with that.

It kept me satisfied until lunch time around noon when my boss took us to the Elephant Bar for lunch.

I did my research and I am VERY proud to say that I had their Lemon Garlic Chicken for 14pp.  I SOOOO wanted to get one of their amazing looking fried Chinese dishes, but I was good!  It was fabulous by the way.  All this food for 14 pp!

When we got back we  had a quick meeting then the manager of our office said everyone was packing up because there was another bout of the storm coming in but even worse than it was then.  So I got home around 2:45.  I immediately started laundry and putting out candles (the kind that use batteries) and other battery operated lights.  I want to be as prepared as possible.

Since I only had 5pp left, I just had cereal and some cuties for dinner.

I better get going to charge everything and get as much laundry and other stuff done just in case the power goes out.

A Brand New Day... Again...

After my venting, and talking to some people, I am going to try out different things to do for situations like when donuts are around.  I just need to keep at it and know I can do this!

I forgot to mention we have jeans week this week if we donated at least $10 to the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund.

Breakfast started off with an egg, toast, and a banana.

I didn't plan lunches and dinners so I grabbed California Roll from Bel-Air and a protein bar for later since I was studying at lunch with my friend at work.
Around 3 I was hungry again so I ate a Kind Fruit and Nut bar.  It was really good.  I've never had them before and they are 5 pp just like the Lara Bars.  It only had 5 ingredients in it which I like a lot.

After work, I headed over to Roseville for my appointment, and did my TJ's shopping beforehand.  I was starving by the time I got home so I attempted to make a Chipotle like salad.  It was just meh...

Okay onto studying!

G'night!

Something Needs To Change

I don't know what is the matter with me!  I'm warning you, this is partly a vent post, but it shows I'm human.  So, over the week, I think I did pretty well...  Then Sunday came, and got a little out of hand.  But Monday morning I thought, I'm starting over, just don't use any more weekly points.  Did that happen???  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.  I blew it Monday too!  Was it worth it?  Hell no!  Did it even taste good?  Some of it yes, but mostly no!  Why do I do this to myself?!  Of course, I was going to still weigh in Tuesday, but then that day went to hell too!  First our system was down literally all day.  ALL DAY.  So I couldn't do anything.  We had a 2 hour department meeting and the head of our department just had to bring donuts in.  And did I resist, or at the very most just have one?  NOPE!  I had 4.  FOUR.  This wasn't all in one sitting, but still!  I can't be around donuts.  I can't even know they are in the same building I am in.  I don't really crave them when they aren't around, but man, if I know they are, I go insane!  So, I thought, well now I'm not going to weigh in, so I might at well have whatever I feel like for lunch.  I ended up going to Chevy's for lunch.  I had my usual chicken fajitas which I LOVE.

You can see from the water that we've had a lot of rain.  The Sacramento River is flooding into the parking lot!

Here's a turtle!  He washed up to the parking lot because of the flooding!

And guess what?  More rain for this week!  Yay!  Keep this up and Sacramento will be under water.  Literally!  So it's kind of scary!

Anyway, despite my ridiculous food intake, I did go to Weight Watchers.  I'm glad I did too.  Then after that my aunt and I went to black bear diner and had a burger and split a vanilla shake...  This is the last pig out session after Weight Watches I'm going to do.  It's not helping me at all!  I know I get hungry after our meetings, but I need to bring something healthy with me to scarf down after weighing in.  Like carrots or something.  I wish I could find a weekend morning meeting in the area, but there aren't any from what I can find.  Or at least something at 6:30 or so.  I know that's oh my God early for me, but nights are too hard!

Anyway, enough of my ranting and raving.  Onto another day!

G'night!

Test Results

Well, today was the day I finally took my state licensing test.  And...  I failed...  BUT I am going to just keep studying my butt off (again, SOOO wish I could litterally do that!) and I'm enlisting help from a friend at work in addition to studying with another person at work going for her fire and casualty license
as well.

I got up at 6 as usual, and had my breakfast at home which I don't normally do, but I might more often because I think I'm more ready to go by the time I get to work.  Although, I'm hungry earlier for my morning snack, but I'm sure I can figure it all out.  It's not like it's set in stone or anything!

For breakfast I had 6 ounces of coconut yogurt (not crazy about it, I like greek yogurt MUCH better!), 1/4 cup mixed nuts seeds and dried fruit, a spoonful of chia seeds, and 2 teaspoons of honey.  I first started eating this for a snack or breakfast on Saturday morning (just some new things I got from Whole Foods), and at first, I really didn't like it, but I must admit, I have developed a taste for it.  I really enjoy it now.  It would be better for me as a snack with a side of fruit.  I do better with an egg and toast in the mornings.

After the test, I was starving (5 hours between breakfast and snack is too long, but I couldn't do anything about that.) so I crammed a cookies and cream Luna Bar and a light string cheese in my mouth before I could blink, then drove to work.

My whole day was off track, so I didn't get to eat lunch until close to 2!  I grabbed a sandwich at Bell Air near work then got some help from my friend at work with learning different coverages.

When I got home, I was completely exhausted.  I just went on my computer and was looking at different blogs to see new ones I wanted to read.  I've added a few.  Soon, I'll add to my links list, I have just been too busy.  I also have a couple of I Heart posts I'd like to do, I just need to find the time and make up the lists of what I want to do.

Well, that's all from me for today.  G'night!

Thank GOD It's Friday!

Well, 2 meatless Fridays down 4 more to go!  It's not that hard anyway, at least now it isn't.  It used to be when I was younger, but I like a lot more now than I used to.

I had the last 2 chili egg puffs and toast for breakfast.  Don't ask me why, I swear I took a picture, but I guess I didn't because it wasn't on my camera.  You've all seen it before anyway, so I'll just leave it at that!

Honestly, with this cold, I haven't had much of an appetite, so I've been trying to take advantage of that.  For lunch, I went out with my good friend from work to Black Bear Diner and had the California Omelet with egg substitute instead of whole eggs,(avocado on the side for my friend, I'm not a big fan) and I chose wheat toast and home red potatoes.  Next time I'll just get fruit instead of potato and have the toast.  Again, forgot to take a picture.  It was a big plate and I really could have eaten less than I did.  I could have been a whole lot worse though...  So, it's a start!

When I got home, my aunt and I went to run some errands.  We picked up medicine for Rusty, then went over to Nordstrom to say hi to her other Goddaughter.  (I'm one of 4 I believe) Then we went to Whole Foods which I've been dying to do!  I got a lot of new things there including chia seeds, quinoa (which I've had before, just never cooked before), kale (to make kale chips), sprouted wheat bread, and a few other things.  I also got a book there to help me learn more about healthy foods and new things I can try.  I really want to eat healthier.

When we got home I heated up a salmon pre-made meal they had at Whole Foods.  It had a piece of salmon, jasmine rice, and green beans.  It was really good.  I wouldn't get it very often for the 12 bucks it cost though!  But in a pinch and on occasion...
As you can see, I started eating before taking the picture...  I don't know what was with me, it's probably this cold!  I can't wait for it to go away!

Rusty really wanted some too!  I gave him a couple of little flakes a little later on.
By that time it must have been at least 9 pm.  I never eat that late.  But as I mentioned, I didn't have much of an appetite.

My to do list this weekend is just studying, resting, and planning out my meals for the next couple of weeks.  G'night!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Still feeling kind of crappy, but it's not getting worse, so I'm just going to keep an eye on things, and hopefully it will go away!

I had my green on today as you can see below!  I had my Celtic cross with Connemara marble in it, my Connemara marble earrings with sterling silver shamrocks, my huge Connemara marble & shamrock ring (it takes up 1/3 of my finger!), my claddagh ring, and my Irish merino wool sweater that I only wore going into work because it was cold outside, but that is a very warm sweater!

Of course I had to play my Celtic play list, and put my little Danny Boy music box next to it as well!

As you can see, I love St. Patrick's Day. It's my second favorite holiday only to Christmas, and it's close!  I would love to go out and do something, but 1, I'm not feeling great, and 2 I don't have anyone to go out with.

So onto my day.  Breakfast was yet again, the chili egg puff muffins, toast with butter and jam, and an orange.

Lunch was the last bit of my lasagna. Then they had to have some big meeting at our office today and I could smell the barbecue they got for the lunch!  A little while later I nabbed some left over coleslaw, a couple of bits of potato salad (too salty for me, almost smoky tasting, didn't like it!) and a bite of baked beans that I wasn't crazy about.
Around noon we saw one of the wild turkeys out in the back of our building.  He had his feathers completely fluffed out and he was kind of acting disoriented.  I think there was another turkey nearby so I don't know if it's mating season or what.  But he was huge!

Dinner, my aunt got us corned beef and cabbage with carrots, potatoes, and cornbread from Carol's restaurant just down the street for us!  I love their corned beef and cabbage!  Yum!  I look forward to this every year! They do have it every Thursday though, so I could have it every now and then if I feel like it!  Totally worth the points which weren't bad at all.  I only ate 1/2 of the meat, there was one small red potato, and I did scarf down that cornbread muffin but it was TOTALLY worth having!
